IT Support Assistant

We are looking to recruit a IT Support Assistant to be based at our Head Office in Mriehel.

Reporting directly to the Head of Sales – Commercial. The ideal candidate will be assisting to drive our Business to Business (B2B) sales directly to our clients in Malta.

Responsibilities Include

Help Desk Support:

  • Respond to basic IT support queries from clients via phone and email.
  • Identify and resolve straightforward hardware and software issues.
  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams as required.

Desktop and Software Setup:

  • Assist with the setup and configuration of end-user desktop environments, including PCs, laptops, and peripheral devices.
  • Help install standard software applications and perform routine updates.

Network Monitoring:

  • Monitor network status and connectivity issues at a basic level.
  • Report any significant disruptions to senior IT staff.

Security Compliance Assistance:

  • Support the implementation of standard security measures.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation for IT security protocols and compliance.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain logs of user requests and resolutions.
  • Update technical documentation and user guides under the guidance of senior staff.

Requirements:

  • At least 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Diploma or certification within the relevant field
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills – good command of the English language
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn from senior IT professionals.

The successful candidate will form part of the existing team and would be expected to maintain a good relationship with the Company’s clients, take a general interest in the operations of the Company as well as ensure that the company’s service offering is of the highest quality.

Network and Security Engineer

We are looking to recruit a Networks and Security Engineer to be based at our Head Office in Mriehel.

Reporting directly to the Head of Sales – Commercial. The ideal candidate will be assisting to drive our Business to Business (B2B) sales directly to our clients in Malta.

Responsibilities Include

1.     Network Infrastructure Management:

·         Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers.

·         Monitor and optimize network performance to ensure high availability and reliability.

·         Conduct network capacity planning and scalability assessments.

2.     Security Implementation:

·         Deploy and manage security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs to protect the organization’s assets.

·         Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and adapt security measures accordingly.

·         Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.

3.     Incident Response:

·         Develop and implement incident response plans to address security breaches or vulnerabilities.

·         Investigate and mitigate security incidents, including conducting forensic analysis when necessary.

·         Collaborate with internal teams to identify and resolve security issues.

4.     Policy Development:

·         Create and enforce security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

·         Educate employees on security best practices and conduct security awareness training.

5.     Vendor Management:

·         Evaluate, select, and manage third-party vendors and solutions related to networking and security.

·         Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues and stay informed about product updates.

6.     Documentation:

·         Maintain accurate records of network configurations, security policies, and incident reports.

·         Create comprehensive network and security documentation for reference and training.

Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

·         Professional certifications, such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, HPE, Cisco or equivalent, are preferred.

·         Proven experience in network engineering and security, including designing and managing complex network environments.

·         Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and security best practices.

·         Familiarity with firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention, and VPN technologies.

·         Proficiency in network and security monitoring tools.

·         Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

·         Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

·         Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
